In a recent interview, JKR stated that she has two (most likely) loved, significant characters will get the axe. Perhaps even more mysterious than a new death, a character originally dying will have a second chance to live (stated as a 'reprieve' in the interview).

Who's time is it to go? Who gets a second chance?

No holding back now! Though it will be sad to see the good characters go, it is a war and, in JKR's words, there is a price to be paid.

My thoughts - Lupin and another character. Sadly, I feel that it is Lupin's time to go. I cannot think of another character that I feel as strongly about, but maybe I will with time. I'm clueless as to the character that is allowed to live.

Here are my predictions on who might die: Voldemort(definitely; I don't care if Harry has to come back from the dead or not, VD is going down),Lupin(you know last of the two marauders and all), Ron(probably because I just want him to die),McGonagall(she's old for the game), Hagrid(little magic skill and not very critical to the plot), and Ginny(Harry's got to have some true hate to make a good AK). Those are my predictions on who could die of the main characters. I'm not too worried about Harry, the Weasley's, or Tonks. They can handle themsleves pretty well.

Snape is being rumored to not come out of it, but I think he will probably because he's so valuable to the order and the good side. I definitely believe he's still a good guy. I mean, he didn't even try to hex or capture Harry when DD died and he was running off with the other death eaters.

I'll pounce on the Snape theories later ddsm/smile.gif. Despite the fact that I think that he's either evil or working for himself (still a degree of evil, in that instance), I don't wish for him to die. I think that much will be revealed about Snape in Book 7, but perhaps later in the book (but not as late as the final battle). If we discover the necessary information too early, then I think that it would be possible for him to perish later, or if the information particularly provokes Harry or whomever we find out his loyalties through, he could die upon confession/discovery.
